I love helping people fit their patterns…It’s the my favorite thing to do!! One way that I do this is by creating instructional videos on my YouTube Channel. There, you can find lots of free tutorials… This is a great option if you know what you’re looking for. You can find all sorts of body specific fit adjustments for pants, jeans and shirts. Plus there is information about how to work work efficiently as you fit your pattern.
I’m also happy to answer a quick question in the comment section and via email. This is a great option when you need a little clarification… Perfect for questions that can be answered with a short answer or link to a tutorial. I wish I had time to help everyone this way, but alas I’m only one woman!

If you need a little more help finishing the process to get the fit just right, stop wasting time! I’m offering a new option to help you get it right – Zoom Fit Lab. Zoom Fit Lab is a 1 hour fitting session. During this session, I’ll meet you where you are in your fitting process and help you get it right!
I can help you fit stretch or non-stretch pants, shirts, skirt or knit garments.
- We’ll start by evaluating the fit of the garment as it is
- Then we’ll work on fine-tuning the fit of your garment in an efficient manner
- Learn how to avoid the pitfalls of adjusting and readjusting your pattern pieces
- You’ll leave the session with a detailed plan to finish the fitting process
After you register for Zoom Fit Lab, I’ll reach out to you via your email to schedule our private session at a time/day that’s convenient for you. After countless hours of frustration and near-misses trying to fine-tune my pants pattern I had a Zoom Fit Lab with Jen. Wow. First, the photos I sent her of me in my muslin and of the pattern pieces came back with technical advice in plain language. Second, the Zoom meeting itself was great. Jen’s experience in pattern-fitting, patternmaking, and teaching meant she could zero in on problems–but also point out where I was already doing pretty well, which encouraged me to stay the course. Finally, the Zoom session was recorded, so I can continue to refer back to it, which I really appreciate. Barely a month after this Fit Lab, after more pattern-tweaking and testing, yesterday I finished sewing my first completely satisfactory prototype of my new pants pattern.
