The Non Stretch – Stretch Pants Fitting Waistband is featured in my Master Pants Fitting Class with Threads Magazine. It’s a stretchy pull-on waistband that is snugged up with Ban Roll to make it a firm anchor to drape the fabric from your waist when you’re fitting pants. This waistband option is perfect for figures that have less than a 6″ difference between your waist measurement and your fullest hip measurement. Because you need to pull it on over your hips, there may be too many gathers along the waistband after it’s snugged up on a waistline that is more than 6″ smaller than your full hip. If you have a really defined waistline, the traditional Non-Stretch Fitting Waistband is a better option.
The kit includes step-by-step instructions, 1/4 yard of Ponte or Double Knit*, 2 yards of 1″ wide Ban Roll, 1/4 yard 1/2″ wide Velcro & 2 safety pins to secure your new pants fitting waistband securely in place. There is also a video tutorial you can follow along with Here.
