Hi Everyone.
I was poking around my website and I realized that it’s a little dusty… After the unfortunate crash (of my site last January), I lost almost all of by blog content and other things. It was a huge project to start from scratch and put everything I had left back together. I also put new security measures in place to help prevent another disaster. Then, between you and me, I was sick of working on it… so I moved on. Now a year later, I realize that I need to freshen things up… So, I did a little spring cleaning
New Main Menu
Starting right at the top, I updated the main menu on the home page. I added an “Online Classes” Tab to make all of my content easier to find. Gail and I were talking about Stitching Zen with Gail & Jen and she mentioned that she had information about it on her website… I thought to myself …seriously, why don’t you have stitching zen on your website? That’s what inspired me to create the online classes section… including a couple free ones!
Teaching Schedule
During the process of adding online classes, I realized that I didn’t need to have a tab in the main menu with a drop down menu unless there was more than one category. So, I eliminated “Events” which included a drop down to my “teaching schedule”. Now you can click directly on my teaching schedule to see where I’ll be next. I have to admit that I have not gotten past Stitches Midwest on August 1-4. You may notice that Stitches Midwest is the same weekend as the National ASG Conference this year 🙁
There are some fun workshops on the schedule for the Fall & I promise to update my schedule soon! I’ve also sent out workshop information to a number of groups for 2020. If you’re interested in having me come to teach, check out my updated workshop list. So far it feels like it may be a Happy Pants Workshop kinda year!

My Blog
It’s been a while since I posted in my blog. I’m trying to find time to do everything (it’s hard). When I started J Stern Designs blogging was the primary way I shared sewing and fitting tutorials. I loved the easy format of snapping photos, plopping them on the page and then writing the instructions to go with them. Then as I grew, I started shooting videos for my YouTube Channel and I started a Fitting and Pattern Help group on Facebook. Things started to get very busy… I set up a weekly schedule of video shoots, editing, posting along with my other “work” activities. But, I have to admit, I miss my blog… so I’m going to try to post a new tutorial once a month to keep it from getting dusty.
Now, I think it’s time for a little Spring Cleaning out in the yard!
